The Cult PR was taken on as ShortList Media's first ever PR agency, to promote Europe's biggest mens' magazine, ShortList and one of the country's fastest-growing women's titles, Stylist in the run-up to their 2010 ABC results.
And within three months, we achieved £550,000 worth of coverage in print press alone. Each week, we placed stories - often illustrated with the magazine's cover - promoting their big interviews and features, all plugging the titles.
In addition to this, we raised the profile of both ShortList Media and its editors, publishers and key journalists with regular TV slots on Sky News; radio slots on talkSPORT, Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 5 Live with Richard Bacon, Capital FM and Xfm and a feature on This Morning; countless talking heads shows and an appearance for Stylist editor Lisa Smosarski on prime-time show The Apprentice: You’re Fired. We also created discussion around the magazines’ feature articles, including a lead-feature on Vanessa Feltz’s BBC London show, which she discussed at length with deputy editor Gershon Portnoi.
The Cult also pushed ShortList Media’s online presence to previously unseen levels, with thousands of online articles discussing the magazines’ interviews and features. These stretched as far as Australia, India, Japan and all over Europe, and resulted in American magazine’s requesting ShortList covers to illustrate follow-up articles. We also placed profile pieces about the ShortList Media team - such as The Guardian's media section, InPublishing, Media Week, Campaign, Brand Republic, Press Gazette, Telegraph, and Daily Mail as well as trade press in many of the aforementioned titles as well as Campaign, NMA, The Drum, Gorkana, PR Week and Media Week.
MIKE SOUTAR, CEO Of ShortList Media Ltd said:
"We have been extremely happy with the hard work and professionalism of Cult PR. They really did hit the phones and left us feeling as though we were one of their key accounts. Results were strong and their network of contacts very impressive. We would recommend them to any company looking for an enthusiastic, committed PR help."
