Captain Paul Watson is known all over the world. Some revere him for dedicating his entire life to saving defenceless marine life from slaughter, while others spend their time and money trying to put a stop to his work and clear the way for their killing to continue... but they all know who he is.
Captain Watson founded Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in 1977 after leaving Greenpeace, tired of their campaigns that said a lot, but refused to get their hands dirty and get involved with the fight to save animals.
He has risked his life on hundreds of occasions, been arrested numerous times, has been hunted down and mercilessly attacked by packs of men and even had to jump bail after an attempted extradition would have placed him at the mercy of ruthless mafia hitmen whose financial interests relied heavily on the illegal fishing Captain Watson fights to prevent.
His message is simple: "If the oceans die, then we die." And he vows never to give up his lifelong mission to end the slaughter of marine life in our oceans.
